Delphi and Databases - which one to use?

I have been using Access (2000) as a back end for my apps for some years now.  It is not really SQL compliant and just is getting awkward to continue to use.

What would be the easiest database to use with Delphi that is fully SQL compliant and can be distributed with a Delphi app?  Oh, and one last thing...I like to only distribute a *.EXE and *.mdb.  Makes support so much easier and means I cannot get into trouble on an end users PC.  While it might not be an *.mdb, it has to conform to the same design philosophy.
