When trying to ping any external website by name from an asa I get invalid hostname. Trying from the asdm and I get a message "www.google.com is neither a valid IP Address nor a configured hostname. You must either configure DNS in Configuration > DNS > DNS client or define a network object for this host in configuration > firewall > objects > network Objects/Group.

This is a PPPoe dsl line connected to asa, asa is not doing dns or dhcp.

I'm looking for a solution to allow for showing ping results for a list of servers in a web browser window.

I'm not looking for a solution that will ping the user's machine from the server, since many user's home router will block ping requests and not work.
