Anybody know how to rename a playlist in iTunes? Not a smart playlist, just a playlist I made myself

if the *iPod is connected* and automatic synchronisation is enabled (which is the usual setting), be sure that you try to rename the playlist under "PLAYLISTS", and not the one under "DEVICES" (that one is maintained automatically and will be renamed as soon as you rename the playlist under "PLAYLISTS").
if you seem to see the PLAYLIST only once in the iTunes window, "minimize" the iPod subtree, i.e., click on the triangle next to the iPod symbol.

Click once on the Playlist to select it. then click a second time and hold for a second on the name of the playlist .. it will highlight and the name can then be edited ..
