My CD rom/burner/DVD player is not set up to burn. How do I change it's properties so that it can burn?

itunes won't let me burn to cds
I can't burn to cd fom itunes.
It says I have no compatible drive but my drive is a CD burner.
What do I need to do to burn to CDs

Where is your cd burner installed?
Did you go to my computer r/lick the rom drive then properties>recording
please explain what you are not seeing or why you feel its not setup to burn?

Thanks well that may indicate just a dvd player unless it is a combo dvd player cd burner which I think it is in this case.
there is 2 versions of yoru HP but both seem to cover the same so I'll post one of them.

You may have to check your actual drive has enable cd recording on this drive, go to my computer r/lick the rom drive then properties>recording
Are you using iTunes backup feature/
Which version of iTunes are you using?
Is the cd a cdr or cdrw?
I think you have to use the ipod to back up itunes.
See if this basic guide from iTunes can assist you since it includes step by step and images so you can see, far better than I type.
