I have most of my mp3 files rated in windows media player 11. I want the rating to be saved to the actual files. I have not had the "Maintain my star ratings as global ratings in files" box checked. I know that enabling this feature will save my ratings from then on to the files, but when I try to apply this setting I get the following message:
"Click OK if you want to import the ratings in your files into your library. Note that doing so overwrites the current ratings in the library. Click cancel if you want to keep the ratings in your library separate."
which leads me to believe that I may loose my library ratings if i do this.
So, my question is, does anyone know if enabling this setting will overwrite my library ratings? If the files have no ratings, will the library ratings I have now stay? Is there a way of writing the library setting I have now to the files permanently?
