I have an Avaya phone system here and I need to play an audio file for when callers are placed on hold. I was hoping to be able to just plug the system into one of our servers and have the audio come from that.

i played with a couple solutions but couldn't get one to quite work. i will be using the audio "line in" on the avaya system. i know that if i am playing a file in any media player it will work, but i am looking for a solution for when a user isn't logged in and running the application. i ideally want the machine to start playing a sound file at startup before someone has the log in, i.e. windows automatic update that restarts machine.
This plugin might help along with -
Winamp Agent
Enable Winamp agent: Select this to enable Winamp Agent, which starts with Windows and adds extra functionality.

Anytime windows starts then winamp should start also and then the plugin should then autorun your playlist.

Sorry for the delay. Figuring this out is the lowest priority at work, but something that I would like to figure out. I finally got a chance to play around with it a little. The autorun plugins suggested by fullandby are close to what I want. They will start playing as soon as you login. I, however, would like to have the machine start playing music when someone turns it on and walks away. I don't want to have to have a user logged in.
Could you set it up for an auto log on script or just disable the log on feature all together. It has been a while since I looked into this so I am not sure if there is something I am forgetting about. Also, Winamp changed their site so the plugin links are invalid. Here are the new links.
