Thanks for your feedback. I converted the video to a .mov format, added the code from the w3schools.com link and tested it in Firefox. This works perfectly in Firefox. However, now it doesn't work in IE. Grrr... Maybe there is a different video format that's more compatible with both browsers. This won't play at all in my firefox 3.05. It wants me to install Windows Media player 11 plugin, which I won't do.

IMO this is a poor way of embedding media in a webpage. No offence meant to your website, but I'm not going to install a plugin in my browser just so I can use your site. I have Flash and Quicktime installed, and in my experience these are generally the most popular technologies for embedding video on the web.

To use Flash video I can highly recommend Flowplayer http://flowplayer.org/
