Try this:
When playing the video, right click the video and remove the check mark from "Hardware Acceleration"
If it works, you should be able to disable it totally on your system instead of on a video to video basis. Most newer systems don't really need it with the higher performance and faster video.
On a windows system, right click on the desktop and select properties
select settings
select advanced
select troubleshooting
lower the "hardware acceleration" setting to either a lower value or to off, whatever works best for you.
