wav files should be built in to media player - perhaps reinstall media player,
or the wav files is corrupt - try play it on another machine that is ok.

I am trying to open a .wav file with windows media player and i got the following error message:
The audio codec identified by the format tag 8180 is required to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help
i looked and could not find such an audio codec. i also tried to play it with quicktime and itunes.
help appreciated!!
