Our users do not have access to the control pannel. I have logged in as a domain admin on the users workstation, and the only item under Miscellaneous is "SML 1.0" which is unticked

Browse All TopicsI have a user that is trying to play a video from a perticular website. When he clicks on the link a new window opens and the quicktime logo is displayed with a question mark. See attached image
If i try this video on my admin computer i get a window open but the player manages to load and play the video. I have also tried this on a brand new computer and get the same result, it wont load up, just hte question mark.
I have tried reinstalling quicktime and setting it as the default media player in Windows XP

Quicktime was and can only be installed as an admin. When the user is logged in he/she can access quicktime preferences by opening up quicktime player and going to edit > quicktime preferences. The flash option is still not in the list.
Quicktime does work for other applications such as watching apple.com film trailers

1. Click the "Start" menu
2. Double-click "Control Panel"
3. Double-click the "QuickTime" icon
4. Select the "File Types" tab
5. Click the "+" sign to the left of "Miscellaneous"
6. Make sure "Flash media" is NOT checked
7. Click "OK"
8. Close the control panel
9. Restart your web browser (don't just refresh the page, exit Internet Explorer, Firefox or whichever browser you use and start it again).
