Email links to WMP files open very slowly

Hi,

When opening links to video files that are contained in an email we are finding that it takes a very long time for the movies to open and when they do WMP runs 'badly' i.e. the skin is faulty and the app will not close without ending the process in Task Manager. I have tried this with movies on our local network and those on a remote network. Also, if one runs the clip directly from explorer there is no problem, this is ONLY when clicking on a link in an email.

If I set the default video player to something else (VLC for example) the videos launch immediately and run without a problem.

The issue is definitely with WMP opening movies from links in email.

Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this? (excepting buggy MS software!)
