Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. I have a DVD with different movie files (mov, .wmv, .mpg, .avi) buy when I play the movie files, all I get is an "inverted" very low quality video to watch.

I have a DVD with different movie files (mov, .wmv, .mpg, .avi) buy when I play the movie files, all I get is an "inverted" very low quality video to watch.

This DVD was mailed to me from a friend who had downloaded these movie files off of the internet and then put them on a DVD for me to watch on my computer.

Where can I find the needed codecs so that I can play these movie files properly?

Also, several years ago, I downloaded a certain type of video player (a shareware program that is similar to Windows Media Player) and it was able to play virtually any kind of media file properly (even the video files that when played with Windows Media Player had this very poor picture quality "inverted video" look).

I now forget the name of that video player and also forget the website where I had downloaded it from.
