XP Wont Load Default AV Camcorder Driver

Have a JVC camcorder connected to toshiba laptop via firewire. XP just used to install generiv av camcorder drivers and it all worked sweet. Now in device manager i get this message "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".
What can i do here?
