Mediaplayer 11 won't play sound on mpgs

I can not play SONY camcorder mpgs with sound, video is fine, no sound. I downloaded a couple of codec's, but not working so far. new XP Pro system, updated mediaplayer 11 and updated to Directx 9. I tried some other players, but no success, all looking for a codec I don't have and can't find. Plays ok on an older XP Pro system. Start Free Trial
