Did your camera come with a driver disk?

Browse All TopicsHello Everyone,
I bought a panasonic PV-DC152D-K camcorder like 2 weeks ago. 3 Days ago, I bought this 4pin-4pin 1394 (Firewire) Cable, to import videos to my laptop.
I have a toshiba Satellite Pro, P-4 Laptop with 512 MB or Memory, Running Windows XP Professional. I have connected the firewire cable's one end to the camcorder and other to my laptop's Firewire socket.
Now when I turn the Camera on, windows XP tries to identify the device and after (apparently) trying to install the driver, says something like the "Hardware was not properly configured and the device may not work properly".
Now I went to Control panel and tried adding hardware manually. It serached for hardware and tried to install something like a 61883 Driver but at the end said "61883 Could not Be installed, INvalid Data).
When I go to device manager, it shows 61883 present in the hardware list but there is a Yellow Exclamation mark with it which means that its not properly installed or configured.
I tried to look for 61883 online and learnt theres something called 61883.sys file which we need to have in order to import video. Tried to search for some software that can help with that but all in vein.
Im totally lost and don tknow what to do. I hope someone from this foryum would be kind enough to help. Please also let me know if im doing anything wrong here.
I would appreciate any help that solves the problem.
Have a great day / night.

You can get the SYS file from here ---

and check here also, to see the others having similar problems --

MOST IMPORTANT -- right click on the drier with the yellow asterisk and do "uninstall" after you have found the right drivers for the video input stream -- then reboot, and when it redetects the device, if you get the chance, choose "manually select drivers" and show it the right directory. If you don't get the chance, go into the windows/inf directory and delete the INF related to that device which is already in the system, before you install the new one. Reboots needed before XP eventually sees it.
