USING A JVC Everio Camcorder as a Web Cam

I am using Vista Home Premium on a HP/Compaq Presario Notebook v2570nr with 768 MB RAM 60 GB Hard Drive, firewire and 3 - USB 2.0 ports....I have recently purchased a JVC Everio 20GB Camcorder, I cannot figure out how to use the camcorder like a webcam.  I was told I could do that and want to set it up accordingly but cannot figure it out from the user manual.  HELP PLEASE!

I dont know if it will work in Vista, but it works in XP. You will need a usb video capture cable like the link below:

I wouldn't get too excited about this. I've actually tried this with my own JVC Camcorder. Even though they say you can do it, you need software like "Orange" or whatever. But the bottom lines that if you're going to use something like Yahoo Messenger the  traffic is sooooooooooo heavy that you end up with a picture that looks like an old Keystone Cops movie...and you're tying up your camcorder. It's a painful excercise, if you want to go through it, but better to buy a cheap webcamera for $10.
Remember the bottom line is with things like Yahoo Messenger is you're going to get a transmission speed of LESS than dial up speed even if you've got 512K broadband.

Should have added, if you really want to go through the exercise there's a blurb here about DV Driver, which I've used -- not impressed!

Thanks for your patience PUNKY, I did research this and you are right I ordered what you suggested, and it works, unfortunately fredshovel is also correct, but he was not really answering my question as much as referring to the poor quality I would experience and as I said he is right I wound up using my webcam after all.

So it is also working on Vista. I know the quality is not so good, but we use what we have until having right device :)
