auraorange,
lity - last month I was taking both photos and video of my 11 y/o son's swim with dolphins, and my AA rechargeables died. I was able to borrow a set from someone else and keep shooting - try doing that with a unique size/format.
First of all, Canon's point-and-shoot models are nearly always at or near top of class for image quality. It's going to be hard to beat the A420 on that factor, and Samsung is not going to be winning that one. As far as battery life is concerned, the mobile phone-type battery may hold up well initially against the AA/AAAs, but high-performance rechargeable NiMH in the AA size do pretty well these days, and I would be surprised if the smaller battery would be competitive. And, it's hard to beat AAs on replacement/interchangeabi
Cheers,
