Browse All TopicsI have 2 SD cards (1GB and a 2GB) which I use between two digital cameras, a Canon and a Fuji. No problem there. When I transfer pictures to my XP box, I re-insert the card and re-format in the camera. No problem there. The problem is, that when I try to format the card from the card reader in Windows Explorer, it says I cannot format, the disk is write protected. So I look for the little switch on the card and make sure W/P is turned off, still no luck. I try the switch in both, directions, ditto. The only reason I want to do this is a need one of the cards for a LCD picture frame I got for Christmas. Just so you know, I formated the card in a camera, put it back in the reader so I could drop pictures on it, and it said I could not do that because of the write protection. The 2 GB card is a Kingston, the 1GB is a Promaster, and the USB 2.0 card reader is a Lexar. Help please.
