Convert RCA (from vcr) out to Firewire or USB for a Mac

Hi,

I'm looking for the best way to get my old vhs & Beta movies onto my Mac.  I've got both USB and Firewire on my Mac and RCA out on my VCRs.  What is the best way to get my movies onto my Mac?

I do have a digital video camera that will record from a VCR to a DV tape and then from the tape to the computer, but I experience a lot of loss with this method.  It doesn't seem to have a way to go directly through the camera as a "pass through", at least from what I can find in the users manual: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/MiniDV-Camcorders/model.PV-DV600 (see the download link on this page for the users manual).
