I have a Canon S=Powershot S2 IS camera which I have happily used, under Windows XP. Whenever the camera was plugged in. it was auto-detcted and a downlaod window poppped up.
I have just upgraded to Windows 7. Nothign happens when I connect the camera. I am hopin g that there is a solution to this problem, or an upgrade for the software - it is extremely conveneient to downlaod phots grouped by the day that they were taken.
In advance, thanks!!!

If you use the Import pictures and videos option (above CameraWindow in that dialog), does the windows wizard work at all?
Is your camera still under warranty? You might want to call their support line whether it is or not... if there's a workaround it probably doesn't need to be under warranty for them to tell you; if it's a new problem, they should start collecting info on it whether your camera's still under warranty or not; if it's something wrong with your camera, they can probably still fix it even if it's not under warranty - you'd just have to pay for it (typical repair charge is around $80 USD - you pay to ship it there, and they pay to ship it back).
I've always found Canon to be reasonable, too... i.e. if it's not still under warranty but they determine it was an inherent problem with the unit, I have seen them ship a completely refurbished camera of newer manufacture for the standard repair charge.
A thousand apologies!!! I have totally forgotten about this question!
I had feedback from Canon, regarding the issue -- they have stated that the software does not function under Windows 7 and that updated drivers will be released in the future - either via the Canon site or via Windows updates.

Well, the software update got CameraWindow working for my SX10 in Win7...
But anyway... please mark the author's post as the solution rather than deleting this thread. That's

If you're referring to the CameraWindow application, download, unzip and install the ZoomBrowser 6.3.1 Updater file.

For the S2 from the US site:
http://www.usa.canon.com/c
From the EMEA site:
http://software.canon-euro
(choose Vista as the OS, as Win7 is very nearly the same as far as programs are concerned.)
It may not allow you to download the english-only executable from the USA site, in that case you'll have to grab the zip file from the EMEA site and extract it first.
Anyway... I had a similar problem with my SX10 and CameraWindow... the camera was detected, and I could access it with Explorer, but CameraWindow (installed from Digital Solutions Disk v42) wouldn't open even if I ran it directly from the Canon Utilities\Camera Window\Camera Window folder on the Start menu while the camera was plugged in. I didn't think it would help (the update file says ZoomBrowser, not CameraWindow), but I downloaded the 130+ MB update file and installed it and now CameraWindow snaps open even without having to choose it from the autorun window. So, see if that helps.
