Our company is trying to decide over wireless services AT&T vs Verizon Wireless.
We looked at AT&T and like their devices much better. But some of our concern is reception. How's the coverage areas on AT&T? Is there article that I could show the board member about the integrity of AT&T? Or how it has improved the past year alone as they have merged with Cingular.

That is very hard to decide upon...because device selection on verizon is very limited, and some of these managers want better devices (PPC)...But in terms of coverage would you rate AT&T as 2nd after verizon. Is there any articles I could bring out to suggest this?

You will not convince them in any manner that AT&T is anywhere close to Verizon in coverage.

It supports that you should choose the devices that make you happy regardless of the
carrier. If your users will mostly stay within metropolis areas, your coverage with any
carrier should be decent. If they venture a lot into rural areas, you would be in error not
to go with Verizon..
If you are looking for a good reason to choose AT&T over Verizon, tackle it from a
technology standpoint. AT&T's GSM network vs Verizon's CDMA netwrok. GSM networks
dominate the world market, and offer a lot more flexibility and portability that the CDMA.
In the long run, I think GSM will beat out CDMA.

I have both.
Verizon Customer service is alot better.
Concerning the signals. Att have acquired and merged with cingulars towers which means that they have more area covered.

You should also keep in mind that Verizon's data service for email, web, etc., is much faster than AT&T at the current time. Interestingly enough, they both have decided to use (share?) the same 4G network type which begins testing this year. So, you'll see most of the same phones on both carriers '09.
I'm really surprised nobody mentioned the difference in data speeds.

In my past experience, COVERAGE is king.
Cingular was always a part of AT&T, a subsidiary if you will. AT&T just recently decided to
bring the name back, so no real merger has occurred, so its hard to say that the move
has improved their coverage.
Although AT&T has the better prices, and right now, better devices, their coverage is
not as good as Verizon. That is the equation you need to run, coverage vs. price.
Verizon does have the best network, and they continue to expand it aggressively. It is
not very likely that AT&T will catch up with them anytime soon. As far as the devices go,
If you are patient, Verizon will always find a way to bring the devices that the consumers
want to their network, it just takes a little longer due to their network structure.
So, the boards decision has to be based on coverage vs price/devices...
