Browse All TopicsIs there anyway to use a Verizon Mobile Broadband card and Dial-Up-Networking? The reason I ask is that I have a Dell Wireless Express Card, but no longer have a Dell Notebook. The Dell Access Manager will not run on my new notebook and the VZAccess Manager doesn't see the card for some reason.
I downloaded the drivers from Novatel adn the card is reconized in the Device Manager but VZAccess Manager doesnt see it. I figured I might be able to us DUN to get on the internet but I don't know any of the values like the phone number, etc. Verizon said they did not support that and wouldn't give me any info.
Any suggestions would be great. thanks :)

On the very first page it talked about how Dell probably changed the firmware in the 5700/640 so it would work only with their connection manager, so if you can't get that software to run on your new notebook, you might farther ahead to just sell that card and get one that's not from Dell.
I suggest one from the compatibility list on the DIR-450's page (http://www.dlink.com/prod

What does Dell say? Realize that it is the novatel v640, that may be a clue on how to get it to work and how to get Verizon to support it. I am guessing that Dell says no way if not used with a dell laptop.
