Converting TREOS to HTCs

OK, I am asking a cell phone question a day, but I don't feel too guilty as I have paid my monthly subscription since July 2005.

As Rob said, some convinced me to go with the HTC Diamond, and I was sold. BUT, after contacting headquarters in Taiwan, UK and Bellevue, WA the exact release date for the U.S. is top secret, and sources speaking on anonymity could only divulge it would some time in the latter half of 2008.

Now, I do not wish to wait that long. I have decided I may just go with the Treo 750 as it seems to be a better overall Smart Phone than the Moto Q 9h. Now, of course, I have to consider a provider.

My question is, if I find a provider that will end up carrying the HTC Diamond, is it likely they will let me trade phones when it is out? And, how would I know now which one to go with? Should I simply ask them? When I spent hours online looking for the HTC Diamond for sale, I could only find HTCs at all at Sprint. Most did not even know what an HTC phone was.
