could they be blocking port 25? although i am sure that you tried that already.

He has a Gmail account on the phone, and is able to send & receive email.
We tried to add another POP3 email account to the device, which is hosted outside of his office's network & domain. This email account is set up on his desktop, and works fine.
The phone is able to receive email sent to this POP3 mailbox, but is unable to send emails, using this email account.
We get the following error message on the phone when we try to send email:
"The message could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct."

Does the additional POP3 account require authentication when sending Outgoing email? If so, have the user credentials been set so that they are sent along with the outgoing email?
