The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

What are my options for MS-Exchange with regard to Cell-Phone management?

Asked by pae2 in Cellular Phones & Carriers, Exchange Email Server, Wireless Standards

Tags: Exchange and Cell Phones

I did a little research and I like the features of Windows Mobile Smart Phones using MS-Exchange, namely ActiveSync and Remote Wipe, etc. I have some more questions.

I was told that a "hosted exchange" email-provider can synch the following data w/my Windows Mobile phone: contacts, e-mail, tasks, and calendar. But what about the messages I get via messaging? Is it possible to synch the messages too?

Next, I have quite a bit of IT experience with regard to programming/development and I have some (not as much as programming etc.) experience with networking and server management. Is it technically possible to setup a licensed MS-Exchange Server at my house with a cable-modem setup? My goal would be to utilize ActiveSync and Remote Wipe via Exchange with my cell-phones. Is that possible? Is it possible to bypass a hosted Exchange provider to exploit these features?

How would the data flow from source to target if I were to host an Exchange-Server in my house with regard to cell-phone data-flow?

How would the data flow from source to target if I were to subscribe to a hosted Exchange provider with regard to cell-phone data-flow?

If a Windows Mobile Smart Phone operating System has updates by Microsoft, do those updates come with a cost?

I also just learned that Blackberries have the Remote Wipe feature:
http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/deliverables/4222/Remote_Wipe_Reset_to_Factory_Defaults_250402_11.jsp

I also just learned that you get updates for the life of the device via Blackberry, 100% free. That's what I was told anyway.

Thanks so much!!
