The Solution Rating System

Need Audio Driver For Gateway Desktop

The audio is integrated and the board appears to be proprietary since the driver that I downloaded from the Intel website, for the D845GRG board, does not work.

Apparently Gateway has outsourced its support to MPC, their knowledge base is cryptic and lists the driver as "P SND INTG AUDIO R0   Part# 2039503"
and they reply to my emails by sending a form-letter saying that my PC is out of warranty and ask me to call their fee-based phone support.
Gateway used to support driver downloads for out-of-warranty machines.
How the mighty have fallen.
