Is DSS Pro format and DS-2 format the same?
Hi,
I'm planning to buy a Philips DPM-9600. I have a few questions.
1. Its output format stats DSS Pro. Is it the DS-2 extension? Are they both the same?
2. Can i get DSS format from it?
3. Is the output from philips same as that of an olympus recorder?
Also i have Philips 9220 recorder. What are difference between 9600 and 9220. Is the recording format of 9600 same as that of 9220?
Also can i play .ds-2 files using windows media player? Are there codecs available?

DSS appears to be the original standard and had the .dss extension.
DSS Pro seems to be the new standard developed by Olympus and is the .ds2 extension.
The output should be the same as from an Olympus because they apparently own the DSS/DSS-Pro format.
I believe the 9220 is just a previous generation of one of their Pocket Memo devices.
