CD/DVD drive gone missing from laptop

Last few days have observed CD/DVD drive is not working in my laptop. I have windows XP installed. Last I used drive for burning one CD.
Have seached a bit on net and found one similar case

I uninstalled NERO cd burner software and removed upperFilter & LowerFilter regstry key.
After reboot, i see that CD/DVD drive is not even apearing in my computer. Device Manager also doesn't show in the list.
How do i get back my drive listing back and make it work.Start Free Trial
