Browse All TopicsI am getting a "firmware problem" on my Creative Zen Touch MP3 player. In the past, when I have gotten this, I followed recommended reboot, and firmware update procedures and when they failed, replaced the hard drive with a Hitachi Travelstar 1.8' drive . All was good. Now, however, I got the problem on another Zen Touch. I bought a new drive on Ebay, but it didn't work. The drive also did not work in a laptop enclosure which is running another Hitachi Travelstar drive. I returned the drive to the vendor who claimed that the drive tested fine and refunded my money. So now I have the MP3 player, which my computer does see enough to report a successful reformat, but the Creative Zen Touch firmware update software does not see it. I still assume there is something wrong with the current hard drive but I am reluctant to buy another one. I would appreciate any counsel before I go ahead and scrap the thing or sell it for parts.
