Trouble connecting DVI-D splitter to two monitors

I have a DVI-D splitter.  When trying to connect two LCD monitors, one a widescreen max resolution 1920 x 1280, and one a normal max resolution 1280 x 1024, if I try to extend my windows desktop to either monitor (using either one as the primary) both computers just go into sleep mode.  Any suggestions?Start Free Trial
