LCD screen turns off after 7 minutes.

I have a 17" LCD screen here. When I turn it on, the green power light turns on and it seems to show everything fine.

After 7 minutes or so, the screen will suddenly become darker, then shut off. All while the green power light is still on. (it is not sleeping it is broken).  I have been told it is the inverter, and that it can be easy to fix. I have already opened it up to look at the circuitry, but I don't know what to look for.

Also, the more you turn it on, the shorter it lasts, and the longer you leave it off, the longer it will last before it shuts off.

What should I look for? How has anyone else out there learned to go about fixing LCD's?

Keep in mind I know what Ohms, Amps, and Volts are but THATS ABOUT IT!

Help... I can take pictures of it if you need.Start Free Trial
