The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Home CCTV cabling system

I am thinking of purchasing a CCTV camera (general domestic type for the home) something like the one on the above link.  My local electronics shop Maplin in the UK have many different models, from wired to wireless.  I am trying to achieve the following.

The ability to view two camera (one front garden and one back) without any hard drive recording system or complex distribution system, on more than one TV in the house.  Most cameras, including the one above, uses BNC cable, A/V cables (yellow and white or red and white) or phono cables.

My problem with this, is that the cable from the camera plugs directly into the yellow socket on the TV.  This is rather pointless if I can only watch it on one TV in the living room which is near to both camera anyway so I could just turn my head and see the same views as the camera (and hence would not need it).

In my living room, I have a TV booster where a TV ariel goes into it and then a boosted signal goes to 4  different rooms in the house.  Is there a way of somehow connecting this yellow cable (RCA / AV) to the booster via a cheap adapter so that both camera signals (maybe on different frequencies?) can be viewed via the distributed boosted signal around the house.

So in summary, I need a yellow cable signal to be converted to an RF Out signal to plug into the booster rather than one single TV.

Also RCA / AV / BNC, are these cables all the same except for the BNC having a power cable too?
Oh, and do you think I could view two channels if both are on the yellow or would they work on the same frequency (therefore only soltion is a proper distribution/hard drive recording system)?
