Class room recording software

I am been tasked to find a software that could be used for recording live class room session. We like to keep it minimum with the hardware resource requirements.

The options we have so far:
1. Use Laptop with Camera for recording the sessions and use castasia studios
2. Use a Typical Video Camera and then convert it to the format we need.

Need to know which one would work out to be cost effective.

for now let me assume that only ONE class room would be in progress at any time.
