Ive used the s-video on my laptop for over a year and its been great, but what ive found recently is that the laptop doesn't detect the lead when it has been plugged into the s-video socket and subsequently doesn't activate the second desktop options in my graphics properties.
Ive tried a brand new lead but no joy and it means i can't connect my pc to my tv...
anyone know a way of finding out if its broken or not working via the laptop? i could open it up but i reckon it will probably be a sealed connection and therefore it won't be obvious if its broken or not but if i can somehow ask the laptop if its present and configured properly i think that should give me a place to start....
therefore how do you check if s-video sockets are active and working or not?
im assigned high points to this Q. because its very importatnt that i get this working or understand why its not...
