Carmageddon w/3dfx patch

Why does my screen go blank upon starting the 3dfx version of Carmageddon? I am using the 12MB Microconversions Game Wizard. The game opens with a 3dfx and Microconversions logo screen, then goes black and locks up.

WAYS TO SOLVE:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Increase the memory to the program form the info menu
      If no affect;
2. Check the extentions, may have a conflict.
      If no affect;
3. Use resedit to change the minium memory needed to at least 8 megabytes more.

If those 3 steps dont solve your problem, i have absoulutly no idea. the stuff u described happend to me, i fallowed these, by step 2 my problem was solved. hopes it solves yours.
