Browse All TopicsI want to get this game going under Windows XP, but unfortunately I cannot find the Windows version of the Trilobyte GROOVIE player. Neither Trilobyte nor VIE exist anymore, so that's a dead end.
The DOS player will just simply drop out right after CD/Sound initialization if it's run normal. If I get version 5.1 of the UNIVBE driver, it will complain that it cannot create a Linear Frame Buffer under Windows and I should boot in pure mode DOS (not possible under XP & NTFS). If I install SciTech Display Doctor for XP, the game complains it cannot initialize sound (and if I don't open a NEW MS-DOS Window, but instead run "setsound" right after running the player, the window will freeze).
Any ideas? I tried using Connectix Virtual PC to emulate pure DOS, but the screen goes black after CD/Sound initialization.
