Question

World of Warcraft Error #132 since update

Asked by: Craig321

Hello,

Basically since the update from 2.0.6 -> 2.0.7 the game has been crashing.

I can be in game for an hour + with no crashes & all of a sudden it'll crash, and sometimes it crashes after a few minutes.

I have checked the temperatures of my PC, they are perfect.

My PC needed a reinstall of XP anyway, so I did that. It didn't help.

I have tried deleting my interfaces, cache and WTF folder, that was no help.

I have tried completely different RAM sticks and it still crashes so it's not my RAM.

I sent in a support email to Blizzard, but they just sent back some copy pasted stuff, most of which I have tried.

Here's the full error that is produced when the game crashes:

Just put -opengl in the shortcut, might have worked, played for a good 2 hours with no crash. Hopefully it doesn't crash tomorrow either.

Craig.

If you are running any WoW mods, make sure you have the latest versions, these can also cause FE errors & Blizzard pretty much ignore them as a cause - see Scrolling Combat Text as a classic example of them actually programming against mods!

by: Craig321Posted on 2007-02-22 at 15:53:57ID: 18592692

Yea, I checked over all them. I have the exact same mods on another PC and it never crashes.

-opengl at the end of the shortcut seems to be working still :)

Perform a dxdiag and make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card - use the manufacturer's drivers and not fourth-party drivers. :)

by: Craig321Posted on 2007-03-07 at 15:33:15ID: 18675108

Yep, checked that as well.

There was a WoW update yesterday - 2.0.8 -> 2.0.10

It's been running fine so far, been in game for a few hours with no crashes :)

Craig.

by: MASQUERAIDPosted on 2007-03-07 at 23:23:42ID: 18677018

Have you removed the -opengl switch since the update?
If so I think you've solved your own problem here :)

by: Craig321Posted on 2007-03-08 at 08:53:02ID: 18680408

Yep, I removed it when they patched to 2.0.10 a couple of days ago.

It has been fine ever since :)

Craig.

Craig,
Are you using an Intel or ATI-based video card in the machine that was having issues?
Just curious because Blizzard doesn't seem to spend as much time QAing those platforms as they do Nvidia-based systems.
Good luck

by: Craig321Posted on 2007-03-09 at 16:59:47ID: 18691909

Nope, it was an Nvidia 6800GT 256MB in the PC.

Thanks,
Craig.

The same problem as I was having has happened to a lot of people and has also been sorted in further patches with a lot of people.
