Both installed from the same disk. Could that be a problem? I installed on my desktop first, then install my laptop. But it seems laptop works fine, always can see desktop.

Browse All TopicsHi,
I'm trying to play the game lord of rings: the battle for middle-earth in network mode by using two computers at home. A is a desktop with winxp pro and B is a laptop with winxp pro. But B can see A and the game A setup, but once it tried to connect, it always showed that "connection fails". A can't see B or the game B start.
Both computers connected to the wireless router linksys 300N. They don't have any problems in sharing files or printer. A has the IP 192.168.1.103, but shown 10.10.10.1 in game (I don't know why, it can't be changed in game). B has the IP 192.168.1.101, shown the same thing in game. On both computers, the send delay option can't be selected.
Both computers have TCP/IP and IPX installed, firewall closed at the time of gaming.
Can anyone help me solve this problem to run the game in network mode? Thanks a million times.

LOTR BFME 1 or 2?
Do both machines have identical versions installed (either unpatched or patched to the same version)?
Do you have two different disks & CD Keys or are both installed from the same disk?
