I Have SONY PSP-1004 K with System software : 2.71 SE-C , with Memory Stick 2GB
am not proffesional in PSP as device
what i need is
1- is there a new firmware for this model ? and freom where can i downolad it?
2- when i install some games like "Crazy taxi " on Memory Stick it appear will and when i play it start with loading and the screen turned off .... is that because i have old Formware or what?

My determination that your PSP model is european is by the model number 1004 you gave. If you have access to any wireless network or wifi you can update your firmware within minutes. The PSP will basically phone home, provide its basic info, and automatically grab the correct firmware. Now making a huge jump from 2.71 -> 4.05 may not be directly supported. What had to be done before was certain games whenever you would put them in, it would tell you that you require a new firmware. Daxter was one of these games as well as Metal Gear.
You may want to look for a lower version than 4.05 to start with. Something 3.x and then move up to 4.x. Also where exactly did you put the EBOOT.PBP file at to upgrade? on your Memory Stick did you copy it to the \GAME folder?

It's complex because the new PSP image you have tried to install conflicts with the mods added by the customisable SE-C loader version, because of the reasons I explained in my post here (http:Q_23626818.html) posting the code you need or direct links would breach the site's membership agreement on hacks and cracks.

My understanding is that the PSP 1004 is a european model of the PSP.
1. The latest version is 4.05

2. New firmware should always be installed for more complete backwards compatibility of games.
