Exactly what format have you converted your video to?
You already seem to have the PS3 supported format list but as a reminder these are the only formats you will currently get playback for:

Browse All TopicsHello,
I am using Xilisoft mp4 converter to convert the usual video files (.avi,.wmv,...etc) into HD video files. This software includes many profiles that you can select to suit your HD taste such as PS3 H.264 HD, PS3 DivX HD, .. etc. I have a PS3 console that supports all of these types of HD formats as per the PS3 online documentation. After waiting 13 hours of converting the transporter 3 movie, i tried to play it in PS3 off a USB flash memory, i can hear the movie audio but no image. I setup the settings in the Xilisoft properly to have a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. I have Sony Bravia Full HD 40".
Appreciate if someone tell me how can i play HD movies in my PS3.
Thanks in advance

Masqueraid,
Thank your for the reply.
I converted the video file from .avi to .mp4 using the PS3 H.264 HD profile and i think PS3 does support it since PS3 word is included in the profile. In other words, this profile format is used to be played in PS3 only. But if you are using, for example, H.264/AVC AAC format , this will be played in any other DVD/Blu Ray players including the PS3 as well. I kept the default profile settings which are:
Resolution: 1920×1080p
Frame rate: 29.97p
Size: 3.7 GB
Semtex,
This is the strange part. When i tried to play it in the PC, the WMP hanged for a long period of time and then crashed (non responsive). This happens when i attempt to play any .mp4 file in WMP, even it didn't ask me if i have the proper codec or not. BTW, i have the latest Codec software that's including all the codecs in the world :)
Thank You
