PS3 HDMI port broken
Hi there,
I have managed to break the pins inside the HDMI port of my PS3.
is there any way i could fix it, can i replace the hdmi port on my PS3.
at the moment i am using component cable, and the quality is too low. is there anyother way i can get a HD quality output?
also there is a optical output port on PS3 can i connect that on to my LCD TV?
what i know is that optical output is only for audio, is that true? or can i get video from it aswell
thanx alot

Hi there,
Aww man that sucks... if the metal pins have come away from inside the socket... you'd need to replace the socket... but I think that maybe a long short cut to your solution... I am confident taking things apart and doing soldering work... but I wouldn't advise you perform this repair yourself. Is you PS3 still under warranty?
If it is I'd just get it replaced...
J
Also what region are you in? UK, US etc?? If you let me know I could look out the warranty info for you
Here it is from the US site...
http://us.playstation.com/support/warranties/ps3/
or a repair site that could fix it for you...

hope this helps!!
