Has it ever worked?  What has changed if it has?  What type of connection are you using?

by: eazstreamPosted on 2007-05-21 at 09:35:55ID: 19128035

can we please have more info, what types of cable are you usingto connectto your TV, can you swap your xbox with another device to see if that works, might be the tv, or can be the video cable.

by: TylerwickettPosted on 2007-05-21 at 10:47:45ID: 19128500

yeah it worked fine before.  then about a week ago there was just no picture. and I tried it on the tv downstairs to and same thing.  i'm using a component avhd cable to connect to the tv.

by: TylerwickettPosted on 2007-05-21 at 10:50:35ID: 19128520

I phoned xbox and they said there sending me a new avhd cable but i dont know if that will help at all

by: eazstreamPosted on 2007-05-21 at 10:52:17ID: 19128535

i had the same issue the first month i got my xbox, what happen in my case was that i pulled the audio/video cable to hard and snatched it. what i did was i went to best buy and bought a new one to test to see if it was the cable or the system, since it was the cable i kept it.
good luck

by: TylerwickettPosted on 2007-05-21 at 11:00:57ID: 19128580

how much was the cable?

by: eazstreamPosted on 2007-05-21 at 11:10:40ID: 19128643

if im not mistaken it was around 50 bucks

by: zephyr_hexPosted on 2007-05-21 at 16:01:20ID: 19130680

i had the same problem and it turned out to be a bad xbox.  i tried another AV cable, and another TV set, and the xbox still had no picture.  i had to send in my xbox for warranty repair... which sucked because i was without my console for a month.  Microsoft repaired the console, sent it back to me... and a week later the same thing happened again.  the second time i sent it in, they sent back a brand new console.  i guess it was a lemon.

since MS is sending you new cables, then you will know whether or not it is a problem with the console once you try the new cables.  if it's not the cables, and not the tv, it must be a problem with the console itself.

did you try it on another tv, if it still doesnt work, call Microsoft to get one replaced, where and when did you buy the 360. did you get extended warranty from store or from microsoft. if you got it from retail store, take it back for repairs.

by: TylerwickettPosted on 2007-05-22 at 17:46:35ID: 19138602

i didnt get extended warranty but its still under warranty so can i just call them and tell them i want a new xbox 360?

by: cyberpranavPosted on 2007-05-22 at 21:58:53ID: 19139420

No. Usually you have to take it to a authorised service center. They will check the Xbox and repair it or replace it according to the problem.

by: zephyr_hexPosted on 2007-05-23 at 09:44:14ID: 19143003

mine was a 360

unfortunately, they will not just give you a new 360.  you send yours in and they will attempt to repair it and send it back.  if they are unable to repair it, or if the repair fails, *then* they send you a new one.

by: cyberpranavPosted on 2007-05-23 at 22:25:26ID: 19147254

Yes. The terms are clearly mentioned in the warranty card. First option is to repair, if it is not possible, then replace.

A while back i was missing around with my 360 video resolution and changed it to a resolution that wasn't supported.  My AV cable had the switch on it that you have to select to change it over to std or hd.  I think i swapped it out with my old composite connection, yellow red white, and voila it was now on av1 on my tv.  Then I reset everything and went back to component cable.
