How to make XBOX 360 recognize official Wireless Network Adapter?

We just bought a new XBOX 360, along with the official Wireless Network Adapter.

XBOX works fine. We have plugged the Adapter on the XBOX's USB port, and it shows a Red non-blinking light.

However.. when doing the  "Test Xbox Live Connection", we get:
Network Adapter = Disconnected (and we cannot proceed with the tests).

We have also tried the Windows Connect Now thing, but same problem.

Also, on "Edit Settings", the "Wireless Mode" section is all grayed out.

What could be the problem?

PS. It seems like the XBOX doesn't recognize the adapter (although this one shows a red non-blinking light). Just in case, some more info: we have a Wireless connection here that works fine, and our router is compatible with those listed in the Adapter booklet (and the SSID Broadcast option is enabled).Start Free Trial
