Yea it was was awsome setup in its day ay)
I have the exact same setup, aside from the ip addresses of course =) I recently fixed my old box after it sat with dust on it for 2 years and it wouldnt engage the modchip. I'll give you a better answer in 2 minutes, but first off I would consider disabling the http proxy on the xbox, that sounds like trouble to me. Also, i'm not sure if this would help, but make sure that you have the IPX Netbios protocol installed under the network properties on the vista machine....it's been awhile but I swear I recall that being an issue at one point to me, I can't remember exactly why though....more answers in a couple mins.
ok so here are some fun things to try.
1. Turn off that proxy, its nothing but trouble.
2. Goto run and type "CMD"
3. You have already successfully pinged the box probably from here, so now enter:
"ftp 192.168.1.75" and enter in your login as "xbox" and whatever password you have.
see if you can get access here. It may be that the firewall on windows is blocking it, or that you do not have the privileges to access ftp.
4. So try 3. as your normal user login and then switch to admin and see if it is any different.

Aaah when I typed: ftp 192.168.1.75 it comes up
-connected XBMC:FileZilla version 1.5.6, (based on fileZilla server 0.8.8)

Then you can type and the connection closes eventually by remote host - it say's(

Try disabling the firewall on the PC and see if everyone can see each other.
