Using Gravis Gamepad with zsnes

Hi.  I just purchased a Gravis GamePad Pro, and I can't seem to get it working with zsnes.  Does anyone know how to use this gamepad properly with thes Snes emulator?

I have only used Nesticle, but shouldn't zsnes have a calibration option as well?

P.S. (Is zsnes DOS or Windows? I can't remember.)

I also have Nesticle.  The gamepad doesn't work for this emulator either.  In fact, I can't get it working for any emulator.  But, it works wonderfully in Duke Nukem 3d.  Is it because these emulators are DOS based?  In zsnes, there is an option to select input mode.  There are options for both Gravis Gamepro 1 and Gravis Gamepro 2.  I tried both, and clicked Calibrate, and nothing happens.   It says move the joystick to the upper left hand position and press a button, but it doesn't respond.  I have Windows 98 running, and I'm in a DOS prompt, so I figured the drivers would be loaded, but maybe they arn't.  Any ideas?

Are those the one that uses USB port?  Perhaps it is handled differently than normal joysticks by the OS.  They might not be supported by DOS (since USB is fairly new)

zsnes and Nesticle cannot i repeat cannot work on emms.

I'm not using EMMS.  Also, how can I tell if it uses the USB port?  It plugs into the back of my Sound Blaster 16 card.  
I did get this gamepad working with ZSnes, by reinstalling the Windows drivers.  (I play it in a Dos window).  However, I have an Atari emulator and it doesn't recognize it.  Neither does Nesticle, but I have to be in Dos mode for that emulator.  How do I get the drivers to load when I start in DOS mode?

the gamepad isn't caompatible with zsnes.....you need snes9x

In a later comment I stated that I did get this gamepad working with zsnes, by reinstalling the windows gravis drivers.  However, I am still having problems getting it to work with Nesticle, my Nes emulator.  For this emulator, I have to start the computer in DOS mode, and I fear this is preventing the drivers from loading.  I know Nesticle does support Gravis, but how do I get the gamepad loaded?
