I have recently setup a SBS 2003 R2 w/o ISA server for my small business and to handle family email. The only issue I am running into is I cannot get my PS3 to connect to the internet. The PS3 was able to connect to the internet prior to the SBS installation, so I know the jnic works.
I have tried the following.
1) Set the PS3 nic as auto config - PS3 nic does not get a IP from the SBS 2003 DHCP server.
2) Set the PS3 nis as manual - manually assined the IP to a excluded IP on the SBS DHCP server, default gateway is the SBS server, DNS1 is the SBS server and DNS2 is the Cable Companies DNS. I have also read on found some ports to open. So I open the ports in Routing and Remote Access. I am not sure if I have all the correct ports open. Also I configured my laptop IP indentical to solution 2 and my laptop had no problems accessing the internet.
The main thing that perplexes me is Why is the SBS server not issueing a IP to the PS3 automatically, when configured for option1.
Also, I am not sure I am "opening" the ports correctly. I have open port for other programs using the Routing and Remote Access but I am not sure if this is the correct way or the most efficient.
So, I hope jyou experts can help me out on this one.
