I've been playing World of Warcraft on a wired connection for sometime. Recently, I got access to a laptop so that I could play wirelessly. Now, I'm not sure which is the problem. I have a pretty strong signal on the wireless and I've updated the drivers for the video card. But, when I watch my framerates, they vary between 8 and 17 fps. I thought it might be because of the zone I'm in. I know Shattrath City has the nickname of Lag City, so I went out to The Barrens and had the same situation. I've set the game to the lowest settings I can and still have the issue.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to how I can get consistent framerates of about 10 - 12? That's enough to allow me to do battlegrounds and not get killed because of choppy gameplay.
