Basically, i've been playing the same games recently and gotten bored. I'm hopeing someone can point me in the direction of a decent game to play. To hopefully give you a clue as to the kind of thing i'm after, i'll post up what i've been playing recently and what i liked/disliked about them (please note, this is for PC only):
World of Warcraft - i've got 3 level 60's, a 55, a 48 and 2x level 40's. I had originally planned to level a character of each class over a period of time but doing the same quests and killing the same mobs over and over is boring now. I've just about done every single quest in the game, got each profession up to 300 and got almost every single 'extra' thing in the game - such as pets. Love the game, but quite frankly i'm getting bored of it now. I do end up playing again a couple of times a week, but no where near as much as i used to.
Football Manager - Although i used to like playing CM when it was out, FM is just too similiar and unrealistic for me. There are certain things in the game which you know will happen 99% of the time which, to be honest, have made me hate the game.
Battlefield 2 - Its one of those games where i like it one minute and hate it the next - i like being infantry and driving tanks, but it really annoys me when you get some people who are obviously good and flying planes/copters and spend the whole round doing bombing runs over and over.
Half Life 2 - i enjoyed HL2 and completed it after a couple of days and bough the expansion (Episode 1) when it came out and was disappointed by how short it was.
Eve Online - this has to be one of the most boring games i've ever played. It is almost impossible for a new player to ever catch up to someone who has been playing for a few months. The missions in it are way too similiar and there's not enough content to warrant playing it for any length of time.
I don't like games such as "The Sims" - my sister plays it and it just annoys me. I don't mind RTS games (like Command & Conquer), but not so much if its like Age of Empires or Civilisation (more geared towards present/futuristic based). FPS games (Doom 3 etc) are all a bit too similar to me.
I'm really looking forward to 'Spore' coming out early next year - its done by Lionhead Studio's (creators of Black & White) and to me looks like its going to be a brilliant game (anyone who's not seen this, go to video.google.com and do a seach for spore - you can watch the 5 minute video but the 28 minute long one is really worth watching, they go more indepth and show off why i think it's going to easily be game-of-the-year next year).
Points to any reasonable suggestions (don't bother just posting the current top 10 sellers), and bonus points if i end up buying a game based on your suggestion!
