I'm confused. Do you want to cheat at this or stop other people from cheating at it? (I noticed you've got another question in this topic...)

If the Anti-cheat thing is your quest, you'll be glad to hear that the game's binary code (the program itself) sits on the games.Yahoo.com server. It's pretty cheat-proof. And if someone does figure out a way to cheat, they'ed figure it out pretty fast and fix it.

If you're looking for a cheat, I'm sorry to say that I'm doubtful you'll find one, since the game sits on Yahoo!'s servers. Unless you find some way to crack the servers, you're pretty much stuck with playing by the rules. Bummer, eh?

Either way, I'm not sure about any of this. It's just a programmer's educated guess. Take it as such...

BTW- Being the curious guy I am, I tried searching for this cheat and came up with nothing. Sounds like an urban legend to me.

dear moncharger,
I am trying to assist the administrators of our league. I used to program CNC machines.I am learning PCs. Thank you for you comment.I now know that we cannot use an anticheat programs, that they only work in online games like wolfenstein(my husband plays this game daily). I do know however that there ARE cheat programs that work for some yahoo games including yahoo pool.one site for cheats to yahoo is:    http://www.geocities.com/bababada/
so they do exist. There has been such a paranoia about people having a cheat program.
My administrators want that cheat program and I am helping them by asking this question. I want to prove that you can cheat. Im new to this site as well. I guess you answered my other question about anti cheat program :)

thanx

so heres another question.....
since that site I listed above us a backdoor......and they have cheat programs there.could there be anopther site like it with a program for cheating at pyramids?

That's interesting...
I personally think this is a little kid having some fun.
This Bababada site requests your Yahoo! ID and password, which is troubling me. When I entered a fake password, it took me to the official Yahoo site (saying "Invalid Password"), but you never know what happened in between. If you work with Yahoo employees, I'd let them know that there may be someone who is trying to steal users' passwords on his site.
With those he could enter the site under thier names and cause a bit of damage I would think. I don't know how he would harm.

Last I heard Geocities and Yahoo were partners (if not owned by the same people). They could easily remove this site and make sure that no new ones open. They may also consider upgrading the login security or sending warning emails to users.

I checked one of the "cheat" links - www.playbuddy.com/spade_buddy.htm
What they did there is created an application which somehow lets you cheat at the game. Needless to say, I didn't try it. The administrators can do a few things to counter that, however it works. I'd try to unleash the corporate lawyers at them first.

hello monchnager........
first off I hope that you were not referring to me as the little kid.......im 27
secondly, I checked out the site you listed above and downloaded that program. Those programs work on yahoo spades, hearts, and pinochle, but not on yahoo pyramids. And a card counter would not be a way of cheating. I dont know these people are cheating but "we" suspect they are somehow. If we can find this cheat program we will be one step closer to getting yahoo to create and anticheat themselves.
Thank you for all of your help so far..

Of course not. I was referring to whoever created that "cheats & backdoors" page.

I have played pyramids a few times on yahoo games. This is my opinion about a cheat for that game.
My guess the cheat u are talking about is somehow know the value of the face down cards in the game (i wouldn't know what else would be cheating in that game). I believe the value of the face down cards is randomized constantly while playing, there for a cheat is basically impossible.
If that isn't the case, meaning the boards have exact set up (just like all the face up cards the face down cards have exact value) then i suppose u could do the trick if u have a sniffer, mostprobably the game is encrypted too though, so u'll need to have a crack for the encryption, but i believe that already exists. then it's just a case of what to sniff and decode the information...

by: leeChPosted on 2003-11-27 at 03:35:52ID: 9831045

it wouldnt be impossible....they read the pixels of the letters and numbers to determin what card it is....iv seen it in many cheats and other types of programs.....and as for an anti cheat....its not possible.....yahoo can alter sumtin but ill fix my programs to work again after every time....trust me....stoppin  a cheating program is only temperaly

I have played yahoo spades off and on for about 5 years now. I have seen java scripts, robot programs, and just plane ol beating the rules. At one time you used to be able to put 4 id's in the same room and have one i.d. force forfeit another i.d., and if you did it on the second play of cards you got double points. . But in your case the cheating program http://www.playbuddy.com/pb/pyramidbuddybuy.htm seems to be for sale. I'm  pretty sure you're only option would be to notify yahoo. Although by the cheats directions, I don't think there will be much they can do about it. Also if pyramids has leagues, someone could sign up for yahoo all-stars, in which league adminstrators are allowed to set points for wins. Anyways that should give you something to go on.

P.S. I played pyramids to see what kind of game it was, cool game.

I have never played pyramid hearts, but I play in the MSN zone all the time. I am sure the cheats used in hearts are of the same nature as the one's in the zone. There are basically 3.

1. Play any card at any time. As u know if a spade is lead and u have spades u must play a spade. With the chaet activated you can play ANY card. I have personally seen this one and once had a copy of it. (never used it though.)

2. This is the latest one and is a STALLING PROGRAM. It works on the basis of flooding the room as soon as you are loosing.  It takes forever for the next player to play, and has the effect that somebody gets fed up and leave, resulting in the game not being scored, and your rating stays intact. The 3 minute play is no longer activated, and the game can go on forever.

3. This is also a STALLING PROGRAM, but the old version. The player activating it leaves the room and immediatly returns. This activates the program, and disables the 3 minute play. The player will then wait for somebody to leave or to forfeit the game.

I do not have them, but am very interested in seeing exactly how they work, or even better to get a anti-cheater for the MSN zone.

BTW the MSN zone is not interested in stopping the cheating, even the sysops cheat.
