New processor does not work

I currently have a home built system - [AMD Durom 1ghz, Jetway  867as motherboard - 512mb ddr ram - geforce2 mx400 vc -creative 5.1 sc,running winxp]

I have upgraded to a AMD XP1800 processor and system will not give post beep?

According to JETWAY site I have most recent BIOS A06 and I have put the old processor back and everything works fine.

I have since discovered that AMD site states that 867as was compatable with model 6 athlons and I have notice that mine is a model 8.

Will I need a new mobo - any ideas?Start Free Trial
